Second Chances
I’m not usually a fan of self-published novels as I’ve always felt most, not all, people take the self-publish route when none of the established publishers are willing to pick up their book, meaning the book, more than likely, isn’t that good. Of course, I’ve been wrong about this on more than one occasion. M.E. Tudor’s Second Chances is one of those occasions.
This book literally fell in my lap. The author is a friend of a straight friend who sent her an autographed copy. Knowing I’m running this website, my friend brought the book to me to read. I admit, I ignored the book for a month or so because of my usual thoughts about self-published books, but I finally gave in because of the storyline.
Second Chances is about two women who met in college and fell in love, although one of them, Pam Matterson, wouldn’t engage in a relationship because of Casey Durham’s love ‘em and leave ‘em reputation around campus. Eventually, while enjoying a friendship, Pam hurts Casey deeply and even their friendship cannot survive the pain.
Fast forward a number of years and Pam finds herself called out in the middle of the night to rescue a woman from her abusive husband. The woman, Casey’s mother. Needless to say, Pam and Casey come face to face once again, but this time it is Casey who doesn’t want to see Pam.
Saying much more about the storyline would give the ending away, and I certainly wouldn’t want to do that.
Second Chances is a great story, one definitely worth reading. However, there is one thing I must say, it could’ve stood to be looked over by an editor at least one more time as there are a number of grammatical errors and typos. Sometimes they even get in the way of the storytelling. However, Second Chances is worth wading through the errors. I would love to read more of her work.
According to Tudor’s Linkedin site, Second Chances is not her first novel. Second Chances can be purchased on Amazon.com or directly from the author at www.metudor.com.
